ATV wheel wobble or grinding: worn wheel bearing

Symptoms
- Wheel rocks top to bottom
- Grinding or humming that rises with speed
- Uneven tire wear
Why it happens
Water and mud get past the bearing seals and rust the bearing.
How to fix it
- Jack the wheel off the ground.
- Rock it at 12 and 6 o'clock; play here usually means bearing.
- Rock at 3 and 9; play here points to tie rods.
- Press out and replace the bearing and seals.
- Torque the hub nut to the manual spec.
