Symptoms
- Battery goes flat after rides

- Melted or brown regulator connector
Why it happens
The regulator/rectifier runs hot and its connector pins burn, so it stops charging or overcharges.
How to fix it
- Measure battery voltage at ~3000 rpm: 13.5–14.5 V is good.
- Unplug the regulator and check the pins for heat damage.
- Test the stator to rule it out.
- Replace the regulator and any burnt connector; check the ground.
