Sled slides wearing fast or melting: hyfax and low snow
Teilen
Applies to: Ski-Doo Summit, MXZ and all slide-rail sleds
Symptoms
- Squealing from the rear suspension
- Slides (hyfax) melted, grooved or worn thin
- Track feels like it drags, top speed drops
Why it happens
Slides need snow to cool and lubricate them. On hard or bare trails they overheat and melt. Too tight a track adds friction.
How to fix it
- Measure slide thickness against the manual's minimum.
- Replace slides as a pair if worn or melted.
- Check track tension isn't over-tight.
- Fit ice scratchers or slide coolers for low-snow riding.
