Bobcat skid steer won't move: seat bar and interlock
Compartir
Applies to: Bobcat 741, 742, 743, 853, Gehl and other skid steers with seat-bar interlocks
Symptoms
- Engine runs but drive and lift won't work
- Interlock light stays on
- Works only when you wiggle the seat bar
Why it happens
The seat bar and seat switches must be closed before the hydraulics and traction lock release. A worn switch, broken wire or failed solenoid keeps everything locked.
How to fix it
- Sit fully down and lower the seat bar firmly.
- Test the seat and seat-bar switches for continuity.
- Check the interlock fuses and relay.
- Test the traction lock and hydraulic lockout solenoids for voltage.
Tools and parts
- Multimeter
- Seat bar switch
- Solenoid if failed
