Honda Talon clutch temperature warning: drive in low
Compartir
Applies to: Honda Talon 1000 and Pioneer 1000 (DCT)
Symptoms
- Clutch temperature warning on the dash
- Power cut while crawling or climbing slowly
- Happens in mud, sand or tight trails
Why it happens
Slipping the clutches at very low speed in high range builds heat in the dual-clutch transmission. Low clutch oil makes it worse.
How to fix it
- Stop, idle in neutral and let the clutch cool.
- Use low range for slow, technical or heavy work.
- Check the oil level and type per the manual.
- If it warns in normal use, check for clutch fault codes.
Tools and parts
- Engine oil per manual
- Oil filter
