Suzuki King Quad won't idle: clogged carb pilot jet
Compartir
Applies to: Suzuki King Quad 300 and other carbureted Suzuki ATVs
Symptoms
- Only runs with the choke on
- Dies at idle, bogs off the line
- Sat for a season before the problem started
Why it happens
Old fuel leaves varnish in the carb, and the tiny pilot jet that feeds idle clogs first.
How to fix it
- Drain old fuel from the tank and float bowl.
- Remove the carb and take out the pilot and main jets.
- Clean the jets and passages with carb cleaner and a fine wire, then blow them out.
- Reassemble, set the float height and pilot screw to the manual spec.
Tools and parts
- Carb cleaner
- Fine wire or jet cleaning set
- Carb rebuild kit
