Kawasaki Teryx overheating: fan relay and temperature switch
Share
Applies to: Kawasaki Teryx 750 and Teryx4
Symptoms
- Overheat light on slow trails
- Fan never runs, or runs only sometimes
- Coolant pushed into the overflow
Why it happens
The fan relay, fan temperature switch or their wiring fails, so the fan doesn't switch on. A mud-packed radiator makes it worse.
How to fix it
- Clean the radiator.
- Check the fan fuse, then jump the fan directly from the battery to test it.
- Test the fan relay and temperature switch per the manual.
- Inspect the fan wiring and connectors for corrosion or rub-through.
Tools and parts
- Multimeter
- Fan relay or temperature switch
- Coolant
